Operating within a six (6) month window— The TMP offers a five week, two part program. Both parts run consecutively. Only three attendees are accepted per program session. There are three mentors during the course, providing a 1:1 ratio of mentor and mentee. Your Tuition includes:

Part 1 of the program: three (three-day) weeks of lecture-based studio time
Part 2 of the program: two (three-day) weeks of hands-on apprenticeship working with physical clients
• All necessary PPE and sterile materials required for course participation and completion
• 3-year Nassau County Dept. of Health Bloodborne Pathogens (NCDOH BBP) Tattoo License, valid and applicable (only) for Nassau County, New York
• 1 year OSHA (The Occupational Safety and Health Administration Certification) BBP Certification

Students are welcome to seek advice from our instructors on purchasing any additional equipment during the program. We do recommend you bring any of your own preferred drawing and art materials (colors, paints, specific paper, etc.) you may want, as only basic drawing pens and pencils are provided.

• Basics of tattooing
• History of tattoos and different styles
• Proper safety practices and sterile procedures
• Nassau County Dept. of Health licensing & bloodborne pathogen training
• OSHA BBP Online Certification
• Different machines, needles, & various other industry supplies & equipment
• Social media, client organization & PR skills
• Photography, Photoshop, and ProCreate
• Portfolio development and one-on-one critique
• Skills for running your own business
• Exposure to industry professionals & various professional perspectives
Part one is a three week classroom-like experience, including a curated series of interactive workshops, industry-based study sessions and seminars, daily homework assignments, and both written and practical exams. This is the prerequisite for part two of the program.
During part one, students will be licensed by the Nassau County Health Dept to complete part two: our complimentary, two-week apprenticeship hosted at Obscura.
Attendees will have the opportunity to tattoo one-on-one with real clients, and even have two separate ‘walk-in days’ hosted at and promoted by the studio. They’ll finish the program with a starter art and tattoo portfolio and access to an extended alumni program.
6 Month Priority Access to Alumni Offers Such As:
